Zhi Yang,
Chairman, Co-Founder
Dr. Yang currently is a general partner and
executive director for BioVeda Capital, a venture capital firm focusing
on investment of biotechnology in Asia Pacific and Worldwide. Dr. Yang
serves on the boards of several US biotech and pharmaceutical
companies. In addition, he is the associate editor for American Health
Today. Prior to join BioVeda, Dr. Yang had three-year M&A
experiences in Asia with H&Q Asia Pacific and its investment arm,
Sinogen Inc. He had visited over hundreds of biotech and pharmaceutical
companies in the region and was instrumental for the success
acquisition of several biopharmaceutical companies in China. Dr. Yang
has over 20 years of experience in biotechnology and biosciences. He
had held senior scientific and management positions in variety of
biotech and pharmaceutical companies, which include Sinogen
International Ltd, Incyte Pharmaceuticals, Prolinx Inc, BioChain,
Sandoz pharmaceuticals, and Systemix Inc. During his industrial stint,
he had been in many different positions such as interim CEO, VP
Business Development, VP of R&D, Director of Molecular Biology,
Group Leader and Senior/Principle Scientist. Dr. Yang is also the
principle inventor for more than 10 international patents.
Dr. Yang holds a M.A. and Ph.D. in
Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Harvard University. Walter
Gilbert (Nobel laureate) was the chairman of Dr. Yang's thesis
committee and Jack Strominger was his thesis advisor. From 1988 to
1991, he was a senior associate fellow and faculty member at
Rockefeller University. Dr. Yang obtained his B.S. in Virology from
Wuhan University in 1982. In the same year, he had been admitted as a
graduate student at Institute of Virology, Chinese Academy of Medical
Sciences. Dr. Yang was among the first group of CASBEA students to come
to US to study biosciences.
Dr. Yang is an avid golfer.

Yuanyi Lao,
CEO, Co-Founder
Mr. Lao has been serving as the Chairman
& Managing Director of First Shanghai Group since 1993. He is also
the Chairman of China Assets (Holdings) Ltd. Both companies are listed
on The Hong Kong Stock Exchange.
Mr. Lao is a seasoned financier with over
20 years of experience in direct investment and financial management.
He has an extensive track record in investment banking, venture capital
investment, and asset management. Mr. Lao is a former senior policy
researcher at China's National Research Center for Science &
Technology & Social Development. He had also served as a senior
staff officer with the PRC State Science & Technology Commission
& the PRC Railway Ministry.
Mr. Lao graduated from Shanghai Fudan
University and obtained his master's degree from Harvard University.
Mr. Lao enjoys golf and opera in his spare
time.

Vivian Lao,General Manager
Vivian is responsible for identifying
licensing and co-development opportunities for novel therapeutics as
well as coordinating the operations of Crimson in Hong Kong, China, and
the U.S. Prior to joining Crimson, Vivian worked in investment banking
at Merrill Lynch & Co. in New York City, where she was part of the
Financial Sponsors Group. Vivian graduated magna cum laude from
Columbia University where she studied Engineering Management Systems.

Rankine Yeung, Chief Financial
Officer
Mr. Yeung is a Director of First Shanghai
Group and its associated company - China Assets. He is also Chief
Financial Officer and Company Secretary of the Group. Mr. Yeung has 20
years of experience in auditing, finance and management positions. He
holds professional memberships of the Association of Chartered
Certified Accountants, the Hong Kong Society of Accountants, and the
Taxation Institute of Hong Kong. In 2003, he obtained a Law Degree from
Peking University.

Weiqin Wan,
Vice President, Medicinal Chemistry
Professor Wan is a renowned expert with 40
years of experience in medicinal chemistry. Prior to joining Crimson,
he was the Director of Medicinal Chemistry Institute at the No.2
Military Medical University, as well as a professor at the Pharmacology
and Toxicology Lab of Navy Medical Department. He had also worked as a
project scientist in anti-HIV research at York University in Canada.
Both an experienced researcher and a
dedicated educator, Prof. Wan had taught medicinal chemistry for over
37 years at various universities and scientific research institutes. He
had also authored, edited and translated numerous textbooks and
scientific publications that are now widely used by researchers and
students of medicinal chemistry in new drug design.
Prof. Wan has published more than 50
scientific papers, among which 25 were published in international
academic journals such as Tetrahedron Letter, Journal of Organic
Chemistry, and Journal of Medicinal Chemistry, etc. He has been
rewarded patents in China, Canada, and the U.S. He has been a repeated
winner of the "Outstanding Academic Paper Award"," Military Science
Advancement Award" and other major national scientific accolades. Prof.
Wan has also been the instructor and advisor to half a dozen
post-doctorial, doctorial, and masters students.
Prof. Wan is a member of the Shanghai
Pharmacy Council, Shanghai Medicinal Chemistry Committee, an editor of
Chinese Journal of Medicinal Chemistry, and Pharmaceutical Practice,
and serves on the scientific advisory board of several major
pharmaceutical companies.

Catherine Sun, Legal
Counsel
Catherine Sun is the head of China
Commercial Intellectual Property Group of Deacons Hong Kong office. She
serves as the acting general counsel of Crimson. Her responsibilities
include providing all aspects of intellectual property and commercial
legal advice to the management. Ms. Sun has acted as the general
counsel for the Chinese Star Cyber Technology Ltd. in Beijing and its
predecessor company since early 1990s. Ms. Sun is admitted in both U.S.
(New York and Virginia) and China.
From 1998 to 2002, Ms. Sun was an attorney
with Pillsbury Winthrop, LLP Washington, DC and Northern Virginia
Offices. She practiced in the areas of intellectual property
litigation, licensing and international trade commission matters. In
1997, she was an in house counsel for a New Jersey based
telecommunication firm. In 1996, Ms. Sun served as a judicial extern at
the CAFC with Honourable Judge Rader. In early 1990s, Ms. Sun practiced
IP laws in Beijing for three years.
Ms. Sun is the co-chair of a two-day Doing
Business in China conference sponsored by CLE International. The next
conference will be held in San Francisco or Shanghai in Spring 2004.
She is a frequent speaker on China IP issues.
Ms. Sun received a Bachelor of Law (LL.B.)
from Peking University, and is a graduate from the George Washington
University law school.
